ROKUS.NET

This blog is no longer updated.

Since I own the domain name for a couple more years, and the hosting was paid-in-advance, it's still here. But I've moved on to Hawaii, and no longer have the need to publish all the sorts of neat stuff that made up the contents of this website.

If you've linked to me, you are invited to unlink, as your readers will no longer be presented with new content. Thanks, Steve

Friday, September 17, 2004 : Stephen D. Carroll, rokus.net

This isn't really my first post. About two years ago, I had a really bland Moveable Type blog called "ROKUS RANTS", short on design, long on cynicism. Yeah, imagine that.

So, what's the deal this time? A project at the office introduced me to PostNuke, the awesome content management system running this portal. Since my hosting provider offers point and click install, I figured what the heck, I ought to set this up again.

What's going to be posted here?
- Windows/Exchange and other tech babble.
- Links and comments about stuff I've seen on the 'net in the last few days.
- Links, scripts and other office stuff I need to write down.
- XML, XML, XML. Why? Because it's cool, and over the next few years, it'll revolutionize the way you use the internet.
- Sarcasm to a minimum. But I can't imagine writing about Korea with a straight face.

Advertisements will be introduced for two reasons - if I've bought something or pay for a service, I'll link to it. Whether or not they pay me for a referral will be disclosed. I'm interested in Amazon's Associates program as well - the SDK allows queries directly into their massive databases via SOAP, and I figure I may as well learn that eventually.
