ROKUS.NET

This blog is no longer updated.

Since I own the domain name for a couple more years, and the hosting was paid-in-advance, it's still here. But I've moved on to Hawaii, and no longer have the need to publish all the sorts of neat stuff that made up the contents of this website.

If you've linked to me, you are invited to unlink, as your readers will no longer be presented with new content. Thanks, Steve
Mok-dong (Seoul) Immigration Office Hours
Friday, December 23, 2005 : Stephen D. Carroll, rokus.net

The Seoul Immigration office (in Mokdong) is open Monday-Friday from 0900-1800. Their phone number is (02)650-2650/6339 SOFA: (02)650-6224, General affairs: (02)650-6212, Information: (02)650-6331/2/3.

You know, just in case you need to run down there next week...

Update 2006.01.03: Maps and directions added below...

To get to the Mokdong Immigration office by bus:
Red 700 drives by but doesn't stop. Blue 571 heading southbound makes a stop on the southbound side (bottom left of the picture) - but you got to know where to get out - if possible, look for the transfers: Green buses 6617, 6620, 6624, 6625, and 6640 are local to that area.

To get to the Mokdong Immigration office by subway, take line #5 (purple) to stop #521 (Omokyo station, Mokdong Stadium), take exit #7, and walk about 1KM. See map below, too, just don't worry about following one-way traffic rules.

To get to the Mokdong Immigration office by taxi, tell the driver to take you to Mokdong apartments, #8. If your Korean sucks, "chul eep kuk kwan lee sam moo soh" is about the best I can romanize it. Signs on the way over there are in both English and Korean, so feel free to help your cabbie navigate around. They actually enjoy that. No, really.

To get to the Mokdong Immigration office by car, take highway 88 west towards Kimpo/Incheon from central Seoul. Exit at the Mok-dong apartments sign, which is after Songsan Daegyo (bridge). From the offramp, it looks like you want to go straight, but the road jerks to the right - make a left and follow the signs to the MokDong Stadium.

From the Mokdong Stadium, follow the red line to the Immigration office. Note the blue lines are one-way traffic. It's not pretty.

Parking? What do you expect? It's a seven-story government office that has a high volume of customers. Usually, there's no available spaces in the Immigration parking lot. There's a church across the street, as well as a restaurant, you might be able to squat there. Parking in the street is a tow-able offense, so be careful.

If you're plotting GPS, it's 37'31''07.61'''N x 126'52''14.54'''E
If you've got free time on Thursday mornings, it's 52SCG1348954894, soldier.
