Trackback: Sick and tired of cleaning up trackback spam - removed the trackback capability from Postnuke (installed via instructions here).

There's a few dirtbags left that are doing GET / on the index. Couldn't figure this out - they weren't loading the images, the php/rss scripts, just "/"

Found an article somewhere else that indicates that this is indicative of folks just trying to get themselves added to your referral pages, in the hopes that you're running one of the "automatic linking of my last 24 hours' referrals"-type javascripts.

I'll eventually figure out how to drop them without draconian measures (they're sucking 27KB bandwidth per visit - that's not an issue yet).

In the meantime, it appears that Google indexes my site on Thursday afternoons. Presented for your perusal, ROKUS.net's "Top Ten" - articles specifically referenced by Google as of this writing (e.g. not casual viewers, but articles specifically requested by URL):
